Wonka Moment

I just found this on somebody's cute blog*. It brought on one of those Willy Wonka moments.
The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself. Only in God will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for ~ CCC
Stop. Wait.

Reverse that.

{sigh}

There we go ..

;-}

* I won't link it, cuz I don't wanna give her a hard time.

  1. Stop. Wait. Reverse that...

    So you mean...

    "The desire for Dog is written in the human heart, because man is created by Dog and for Dog; and Dog never ceases to draw man to himself. Only in Dog will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for."

    Got it. :-)

  2. That's the ticket! I'm bettin' you've got a roommate of the "man's best friend" variety, huh Kvatch?

    Good. Good...

    As long as we humans keep our priorities straight, we can always find happiness in a kennel.

    Ummm... or something.. .)

  3. complete and utter nonsense. But then most sentences with "god" in them are.

    Did anyone actually try and parse the statement?

    "The desire for god is written in the human heart" Literal interpretation - "desire for god" is on the inside of one of our valves?

    Metaphorically speaking, our heart (a non-sentient organ) desires a non-existing entity.

    The next sentence is a killer - "only in god will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for"

    If you found the truth and happiness wouldn't you stop searching? Or if you found god, wouldn't that mean you found the truth and happiness and could stop searching?

  4. Yessir, eh. Man created God as an answer to things for which we just weren't able to find the answers.

    I tend to think it's a happy, pretty thought, except in how it does stop that searching.

    {sigh}

    Oddly, I suppose, but...no. Small flat; Dog-unfriendly section of Babylon by the Bay; Abiding sense that no thing in this world should depend on me for it's existence; So...no dog.

    But, that said, I sure do have a soft spot for creatures of the "man's best friend" variety.
