Sherrod's Semi-daily
As I travel around Ohio during my campaign for United States Senate, I hear a common message echo throughout the state: Ohioans want change. For too long Republicans in Washington have turned our government into their profit center.
Their greed translates into job loss, higher prescription drug prices, soaring gas and home heating bills, lack of access to education, and failure to fully fund homeland security.
I've heard your call for change, and I've been working non-stop to make that change a reality.

Thousands of Ohioans have joined our campaign as I tour the state detailing my reform proposals on health care, job creation, trade, education, energy, and national security.
I'm proud that our efforts continue to receive support from state and national Democrats, and attention by the media. They know what we know – Ohio is the bellwether of American politics, and our message resonates with voters.
Success in Ohio this year will pave the way for Democrats across the nation in 2008.
Our progress threatens the pay-to-play system in Washington and Republicans are already trying to stop us.

On Monday, my opponent, Republican Mike DeWine, launched a million-dollar ad blitz financed by campaign cash personally collected by President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
It is no secret why top Republicans are propping up DeWine. In the Senate, DeWine supported the Bush Administration 94% of the time in 2004, and 97% in 2003. In just the past few weeks:
- George Bush and Dick Cheney have both held high-dollar fundraisers for Mike DeWine.
- In February, a new group with close ties to Republican leadership, Promoting American Values, was formed to influence statewide elections in Ohio.
- Last Saturday, Karl Rove flew to Ohio to strategize with DeWine in person and enlist GOP activists in his campaign.
Don't let George Bush buy Mike DeWine another term.
Despite falling poll numbers and widespread criticism, Republicans are confident they can subvert the will of the people once again by saturating the airwaves with misleading campaign ads and bare-knuckle political tactics. But I've got something more powerful on my side – you.

In the coming months, you will see a campaign of which you can be proud to be a part. In the Senate, I will fight to expand access to health care, revamp U.S. trade policy to support local small businesses and create jobs here at home, fully fund No Child Left Behind, make tuition affordable for those who want to go to college, and provide real investment in our homeland security.
With your help, I will be your U.S. Senator, not a representative for millionaire lobbyists and multibillion-dollar corporations. We're in this together.
Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown
Candidate for U.S. Senate
