Shiny Happy People Holding Shit
Awesome pick from the Culture Ghost which I found on Michael Greenwell's post about faked rare-animal photos in China.
Kinda sums up what happens, naturally, to everyday normal peops when they let their lives and life-styles be determined by Salesmen.
...and some, I assure you, call it art.
ReplyDeleteOh yah! Alas you're way too right on that. And the Art of the Scam is just about down to a Science w/ the way Advertising has evolved over the last 50 years. Blech! eh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful surprise...just dropped by and saw this...glad you enjoy it...I used it a Christmas Card for some select friends this past season...went over very well!
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
Glad you approve, CG! I'm sure they all loved it.. except for the fact that it's so danged true and all. Very good work indeed, sir!
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteYou are right - all us small people are puppets for salespeople, advertisers, and market analysts. They tell us the next move to make.
I was trying to decide what to eat for breakfast and decided on Cheerios. They already knew that.
I dig it, Eddie. I do try to mix it up and use restraint (HA!) but even the puds from which I bought my laptop just increased my freakin' credit limit to $2500... DAMN! I've got to leave that ALONE.
ReplyDeleteWish me luck, eh.
exactly
ReplyDeletei still find it amazing that most of them are actually happy about it though.
Welcome back, MB! Missed you and your quirky, wise take on people and the world at large.
ReplyDeleteI read the story on the faked endangered animal photos, and then reread your comments. And I thought, hmmmm... this could also be applied to the entire McCain campaign, and the last 7 years of Commander Codpiece and his vicious Orcs. They sold us a true line of shite and McCain is working hard to sell us some more. I wonder if we'll buy it again?
... sigh ...

And just in time for Christmas!! How can we forget that holiday, which now starts in mid-October right before Halloween? Give it 5 years at this rate, and the stores will be decked out for xmas by Labor Day. Ugh.
