The Ever-Moving Goal

"Somehow this madness must cease. We must stop now."

While the quote was used by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer editors in a brief, though hopeful and relevant, piece on Obama and Hil, the madness of which King spoke is ubiquitous for our species, and while it is by no means currently proven, going to stop any time soon, the goal is every bit as laudable now, and for so many concerns and activities of human kind, impoverished as well as empowered, as it has ever been.

  1. I am in the same cynic's camp. The madness will end when humans are gone, and the way we are affecting global climate, that day might be hurried up a bit.

  3. I've got a friend whom I just heard is still living the communal life in Oregon. While that's not the thing for me, I'm glad there're folk like him. They'll be the Earth's gardeners once the tech-lovers like moi have develed the means to live anywhere; such as the moon, Mars, etc. We'll still take our problems with us (hell, my boy's kind have most of the same, just w/o the resource wasting) but at least teh planet will survive our evolution.

As Long As We Don't Self-Destruct.

    Besides, AG, I hate camping!

    :)
