Banal explanations
fit the best
even timelessly futile
as pieces of a cure

Casual in the face
of causalities
youthful effervescence
shouldn't make me so unsure
but I know why it does

Loneliness isn't the lover
that I would befriend
but since I do so gallantly
most of the time
I've gotten better
at playing pretend

In this infinite
and mordantly too short time
I'll try and use every chance
to finally climb out
of the darkest of the holes
which at least my mind
has begged to imagine
